NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains exams four times a year starting February 2021, Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced on Wednesday.

The first edition of the exam will be held from February 23 to 26, followed by rounds in March, April and May.

Releasing the JEE Main 2021 schedule the education minister said, "We have examined the suggestions received from students and various quarters and it has been decided that JEE-Mains will be held in four sessions in February, March, April and May". "The first session will be held from February 23-26 and the results will be declared within five days from the last date of exams," he said.

The move will ensure that students don't miss out on opportunities due to clash of exams or due to the Covid-19 situation at present, the minister added.

Nishank also said students will be given a choice to answer 75 questions (25 each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) out of 90 (30 each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics).

NTA will commence the registration process for the JEE Main 2021 February cycle later this week. The interested candidates can submit their application forms for JEE Main cycle 1 through the official portal of JEE Main —

Candidates should note that NTA does not edit/modify/alter any information entered by the candidates after completion of the application process under any circumstances. Any request for change in information thereafter will not be entertained. Therefore, candidates are advised to exercise utmost caution for filling up correct details in the Application Form.

JEE Main 2021 will be conducted in the following modes — Paper 1 (B.E. /B. Tech.) in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only, Paper 2A (B.Arch): Mathematics (Part-I) and Aptitude Test (Part-II) in CBT mode only and Drawing Test (Part-III) in pen & paper (offline) mode, to be attempted on a drawing sheet of A4 size, Paper 2B (B.Planning): Mathematics (Part-I), Aptitude Test (Part-II)and Planning Based Questions (Part-III) in CBT mode only.

JEE Main 2021 will be held once each month, from February to May. NTA will announce the results a few days after the exam so that students can apply for the subsequent month’s test.
